June, 2010: Currently we are interviewing for a part-time position: bottled water delivery driver
The position would include loading a cube van via pallet truck/skids, and delivery at customer locations via hand and/or bottle-cart offloading of 3- and 5-gallon water bottles. The truck is a 5-ton cube van with a load-height of 32 inches (one step between). Workday would be in the range of 3-5 hours per day, 5 days a week, from 9AM to completion. This, then, is a part-time position to start (anticipate 20-25 hrs a week), though we fully expect to increase these hours.
This is not an easy job: the work is relatively physically demanding, as the bottles weigh 31 and 51 pounds each. However, it is not intense, as there is driving time between deliveries. It is nice work, as there is a fairly significant amount of customer contact.
You are a presentable, energetic, friendly and personable individual looking for long-term, permanent position that will grow (probably fairly quickly) to full-time. You have a clean driving record (we will require a Statement of Driving Record as a condition of hire) with at least 10 years driving experience. Obviously, some cubevan experience would be preferred. A good working knowledge of the streets and navigation in St Catharines will clearly be a necessity.
